Momma Mia!

I remember seeing this great interview with B.B. King in which the interviewer asked him what advice he would give to any up-and-coming musicians. B.B. King thought about the question for a minute and responded "Find a musician you like and play songs like him. After a while of imitating that artist you'll end up with your own sound."

Here's what I want to imitate:

Goatsnake Reissued!

One of my favourite albums is being reissued. Now I'll finally be able to own this album on vinyl! Goatsnake is amazing. If you haven't heard any of their material before do yourself a favor and check this out.

Nostalgia leads to cheap beer

My buddy was visiting from France a while ago. He's a big fan of Americana so I thought I'd pick up some Schlitz to try. My parents used to drink it when they lived in Michigan. I thought my friend would like to try Schlitz because of it's history as a big American beer way back when and I wanted to try it because I thought it'd be interesting to try something that my parents used to drink. Not the best quality beer. It's on par with Pabst or Miller or Budweiser. Nothing special. I don't regret buying it, I'll probably do so again. Sure helps that it's cheap. $7.50 for a 12 pack.

Thank you Blood Falcons

Saw this picture on the JJ and on the Blood Falcons blog (via Chop Cult Blogdump). Love everything about it.

edit - This is a Scott Pommier photo. Not sure why the Blood Falcons put their watermark on it.

So True!

We need less people driving cars! The frame with the bicycles could easily represent motorcycles.

More fun (that I can't attend)

Work and life have made it impossible for me to attend this event. I'd really been looking forward to it. Next time.

Little changes

Did a little work on the exhaust these past few days. The support bracket I have on the rear needs to be a little sturdier. Thankfully I was able to scrounge up some scrap metal from work. I'll have it cut and shaped within the week.
I want to paint the pipes black. I used BBQ paint but the paint on the headers burned off. So much for trying to be cheap. I'll have to get some VHT or maybe put some heat shield over the pipes and paint those black.
The whole project is slowly coming along because I've been a little lazy.
